Johan Santana Desktop Wallpaper

I have been playing around with the Microsoft Expression Design program and Gimp. Both of which are very nice programs. While playing around with them I decided to try putting together a wallpaper for my laptop. I have my screen resolution at 1280 x 800 and let me say it is not easy to find pictures online to fit that resolution. As a Mets fan I decided to pt together a Johan Santana wallpaper since I have not seen many out there yet. It turned out pretty good for my first time. I have posted it on Desktop Nexus which is a new site where users can upload desktop wallpapers. The site is meant to be a one stop resource for backgrounds so that us users no longer have to go hunting through Google and Yahoo pictures for a new back drop for our monitor screens. A thumbnail of it appears below.

Fernando’s 2008 Debut

Well the minor league season has started as well. He is starting the year at AA playing for the Binghamton Mets. I have added a link to his current stats on the Fernando Martinez Watch page of the blog. I have also begun working on a fan site for Fernando which I hope to debut shortly.

MLB Season Starts

Well it is finally here the start of the baseball season. My Mets take on the Florida Marlins this afternoon behind newly acquired ace Johan Santana. The Marlins are countering with Mark Hendrickson. This pitching matchup is severely tilted in the Mets advantage which should help them get off to a good start this year. You can watch the gamecast of the game here.

Also here are my official predictions for the season. The Mets in my opinion having added Santana and having Pedro for the entire season will win the division by at least 7 games. The rest of the division really didn’t improve and the Mets had to experience a historic collapse to not win it last year.  I think a 95 win 67 loss season should be about right. Johan wins the Cy Young after winning 22 games and Dave Wright brings home the Mets 1st MVP award, which he probably would have won last year if not for the aforementioned collapse.  I know I’m probably biased but I also see them winning th World Series this year to send Shea Stadium out in style.
